Died.
Soul left his physical body.
Stopped breathing.
The pain he had to go through to save us caused his body to give out--he was still human, after all. But he was also God. He could have called for angels to save him. He could have even run away from the Roman Empire. He could have never died.
He could have not come to earth in the first place.
But he came, and he died. He knew we needed saving; he knew that it had to be done; and he knew that it was for the better.
He went through all that pain, all that suffering--
Because he loved us.
The cross was not the end. Jesus went from rejection to resurrection, in order to offer us reconciliation.
And so, that is why the God of the whole wide universe--billions of galaxies, solar systems yet to be explored, you--sent his Son to die. He died for the Russian peasant in 1605. He died for his apostles. He died for your parents. He died for you. He wanted a deep connection with you so much that he bridged the gap for us. He was the only one who could.
**About 2,000 years ago all of that happened--happy Easter 2025 everyone! He is risen; he is risen indeed.**
